Just ordered an ET-732 from A-Maze-N. Tossed in an A-Maze-N-Torch too, just for giggles, Been wanting the 732 for ages, but have felt guilty about spending the money. Luckily, that feeling passed :)

It arrived yesterday well packed and intact. Just testing it out now. Tried to use the rack clip in the oven, but the rods were too far apart and the tip of the probe flopped over and landed on the rack. Immediately got the HHH on the display. OH NO!!! Thought I'd shorted out the probe. Unplugged it and then plugged it back in and all is well. Haven't done the boiling water test yet, but if this thing's accurate, I owe my wife a lot of apologies for teasing her and calling her "The Burner". At a setting of 350˚, the oven, according to the ET-732, hit a high of 423˚, then leveled off and is dropping slightly. Now seems to be holding at 417˚. This might explain her famous "black bottom cookies".

After a few minutes of holding, it appears to be cycling at around 423˚ to 427˚. Good grief! 75˚ high. Might be time for a new oven.

On the initial power up, the 732's probes were both dead on at 79˚, which feels just about right as I'd had the windows open and AC off. So far I'm a happy camper, except for the over zealous oven. Can't find the butane to test out the torch, but it looks like it should work just fine.

You'll love that 732.  I'm not sure what I like better--the range or that I can set it for both high/low temps in my smoker.  I tossed 3 butts last fall on an overnighter cause the fire went out in my drum. Twice.  Caught it the first time mother nature waking me up, and checked it while I was up.  Temp hadn't been in the danger zone long enough to be a problem, so I lit the drum again, made sure it stabilized at 225, and went back to bed.  Over slept in the morning, and that sucker was stone cold when I got up.  Meat temp was 130.  I figured it had to have been hotter at one time, but since I didn't know how long it had been below 140, I decided the best thing was to trash them.   Man, that hurt!  The next few overnighters I didn't sleep well at all; up and down all night checking on things.

Since I splurged for the 732, I sleep all night long with no worries.

Did the boiling water test last night. Pit probe was at 216˚, food probe fluctuated between 212˚ and 214˚. I can live with that. It's been a little fidgety in pairing, but power cycling the transmitter has resolved the problem each time. All in all, I am extremely pleased both with the product and the customer service.
