I waited for bout 5 months for the original to be back on the Amz available list. Even at a reduced rate. This is the original, not the after mkt one. Instructions are in French so i had to get one of the French Canadians to tell me what it said. The pusher has a rear lock.

The lock is the metal pin on the rear block

Pro's
Nice wood, dont know if i will rub it down with anything yet.
Very sharp and does not tear the meat
Locks the blade closed.

Looks good Cutting board oil would do a nice finish.

Very unique looking slicer .I like it. Might think on rubbing it with mineral oil.

Would butcher block oil be good?

That’s is pretty dang fancy. It looks like functional artwork. B

I would use mineral oil to oil it with. Very nice piece of equipment.

Nice, I'll bet it picks up an oil finish just from the sausages whether you oil it or not. The wood grain on the pusher looks like oak, but I'm not so sure of the rest.

I found this:

Pretty cool Rick!
Mineral oil is what butcher block oil is only 10 times as much money.
You can get mineral oil in the laxative section of Walmart.
