Electronic rodent control question.

Way off topic. My patio/ cooking area is covered but not enclosed. I got a silicone cover for my griddle. It's "sealed and keeps anything off the cooking surface. I can see the patio from my "office" chair.
i saw a small rodent scurry across my cover last night. traps and/or bait would not be good as I have a bar chunked full of things and don't want/need dead rodents there. I've been looking at electronic rodent repellers. I've seen where they seem to work on car shows to keep critters from gnawing wires. Anybody got any experience with any of these?

My experience is they really don't work particularly if there's a food source or perception of one in your case (outdoor cooking area),they'll keep coming back.

You can certainly use a fully enclosed bait station like a Neogen and you just go dump the dead critters.

Me personally I bust out one of my pellet guns and have a little fun.Bait'em and shoot'em!

We ordered the battery operated shock boxes at work several years back when we had a bad Rodent infestation in our field office. We just wanted to see them fry in the box. Those shock boxes worked for us.

Funny story, one of the Supt that worked out of this office had a bad phobia of mice/rats. We started with the classic trap and they did work to a certain degree but I discovered about 10 traps Thrown out the back door of our office with mice in them. That dude would just scoop them up with a broom and sling them out the back door. Too scared to touch them. It was wild.

I got some cheap ones recently for my shed. I tested them by turning them on inside, close to my dogs and cats. There was exactly 0 response from any of my animals. If these things were emitting any sort if sound, I would have at least expected my dogs to do that head tilt thing. The devices were returned.

On a differnt note - I've been battling an armadillo who's uprooting some newly planted bushes. Steel wool and cyanne pepper took him by surprise. But I have to reapply every couple of days.

I've tried some cheap electronic gadgets and I dont think they do anything. Snap traps and peanut butter are my go to. I tip a milk crate upside down and put the trap in there so bigger animals can't get to it.

I have used those and they work but check them often. Sucks cleaning if left to long! I used peanut butter.

Bought it a few years ago when the neighbor was feeding possums outdoors with cat food. Attracted mice into our garage and house. These work like a charm.
