DOA masterbuilt 140s

hi, we should have a dead masterbuilt forum.
here is my story today. went to Walmart with wifey-poo who was picking up a prescription. the place was a madhouse with people returning things and grabbing bargains. so, I wandered over to the garden center to check out the smokers. sitting on the floor was a masterbuilt 140S, model mb20072618. tag on it said $149.00, no remote. I found a clerk who found a manager. I asked what the bottom line would be because the remote control was missing. she waved her price wand around and it spit out a label that said $111.00. so, I bought it.
all fine, got home, wheeled it into the screen room, plugged it in and nothing, not a peep. took the control off the top and checked the wire plugs. all good. got my tweeter out and it sang power on both sides of the connectors. I came in the house and called customer service at 3:30 central time. sorry was the answer, all customer service personal are in training today, call back tomorrow.
so, tomorrow one my try at customer service, then its back in my old jeep Cherokee and back to Walmart. I question myself when will I ever learn. my answer to myself is never!!

I would stay after CS .. don't tell them what you paid for it and why... just tell em the controllers not working.. plus the remote was missing from the box... might get both sent to ya ...

thanks guys,
after sleeping on it, that's my plan. I also have been reading the posts about the PID conversion. really like that idea. I think my Walmart receipt says 30 days to return it. so have time to figure it out.

hi. CS must be busy right after Christmas. I called today at 12:15, listened to the music for 10 minutes, then pushed the star on the keyboard to go on the callback list. got a callback at 3:30. a real nice girl asked what my problem was. I explained and then she wanted the model and serial number. she was gone a minute and came back and said that model was built a year ago. she then said can you email me a picture of the receipt. I did that and no more than 5 minutes later I got a email back saying the parts are on the way. can"t beat that.
