Hi!
I’ve been coming to this forum as a guest for a few week learning about smoking and researching pellet smokers. Seems like a great site with nice, knowledgeable people! I’m a total carnivore and have been grilling (gas/broil king) for years but it’s time to step up my game and get some more flavorful results.
I’m days away from pulling the trigger on either a RecTec Bull or Yoder 640s. Currently leaning towards the Yoder and would welcome any thoughts/experience with these smokers. Anyway, I’m looking forward to some great meals and learning more from everyone here!

Welcome aboard! Great place here to learn and share. I have neither of those but both are great fr what I read here. There’s probably a wider amount of feedback available on the Rec Tec. They get great feedback and the customer service is said to be stellar. Not sure where you are located but if anywhere near Ohio there is a great deal on a used loaded Rec Tec Bill in the classifieds.

Welcome from Wisconsin. :emoji_cat:

Be sure to post some pics of your new rig when you make the decision. I have heard a lot of good things about Rec Tec and Yoder products. Good luck in your decision.

I researched pellet grills for months before making my decision. I read literally thousands of reviews, articles, and write-ups on every top-of-the-line grill on the market. At the end of the day, my decision was clear: Rec Tec all the way. I took delivery of a new RT 700 Bull 2 weeks ago and there's no looking back. I have a myriad of top shelf cookers of all different kinds but had never used a pellet grill before. It took a couple of times with smaller cuts of meat to get it figured out but I'm doing OK with it now. I had to call customer service the day I set it up with a question and the experience lived up to their reputation. Rec Tec is world renowned for their customer service, and I can see why. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about a Yoder and have read some good stuff, but cannot make any sort of an honest comment being that I've never even seen one in real life :emoji_wink: It's a tough call but look on the bright side, you have a lot of options to look into. It's just a matter of finding the one that checks off all your boxes.

Sharing what I know,
Robert

Good Morning and welcome to the best Forum on the Web

If you haven't pulled the trigger yet I went for a Yoder YS640 about a 1 1/2 years ago and have not regretted it yet. It is a tank and a work horse. I cooked up 70# of butts for a friend and no problems.
You won't go wrong with a RecTec either they are good cookers.
