I've never heard of putting a dill pickle in hushpuppie mix. My grandfather made the best hushpuppies....added garlic power to his mix. I wish I had written down how he made things. His biscuits...were wonderful...used lots of lard when mixing his batter. They didn't rise very much as did many, but were they good.
