I purchased a few packages of St. Louis ribs and opened the first package yesterday. The ribs had a weird sulphury gas smell. I just assumed they used a preservative gas when packaging, and I went ahead and cooked the ribs. My wife thought there was a slight off taste, but I didn't perceive it. We didn't get sick, so the meat must have been okay.
