Yes, we do make pretty good fried chicken at home, but sometimes want ready to eat "now".

We live in the woods, closest place to buy hot fried chicken is our "local" grocery store, 25 miles, Popeyes 40 miles.

Anything similar, 80 miles.

I've gotten to be quite thoughtful knowledgeable about store fried chicken, no dummy here.

So, ..   A new store went up this spring  ONLY 3 miles away, with a large hot deli.

WOOHOOOOO !!!!

Biggest news in these parts for yearssss.

Long story short, got 8 piece fry chick there few weeks ago.

Bring home, overcooked like crazy, and dry as toast.

Now to be fair, I did buy it "off peak" by like 45 minutes under warmer.

Hoped that was the problem.

Go back today, Missus requests fry chick, but I say I will talk to them first.

Ask if they can drop me an 8 piece for fresh, she says yes.... 25 minutes.

Hmmmm.... 25 minutes sounds longish, so I ask about pull temp...

Long story short-   Kitchen Manager says her "Boss" has made it ultra clear to deep fry the chick "Untill 200 minimum in thickest part"

Gave her feedback, she said I'm not the first, and will talk to mgmnt again.

With NO other choices nearby, REALLY Really disappointing, I thought we would have something good new here.

Unbelievable.

Am I the only one that won't buy this a second time??
