Costco prime packers

Costco in Matthews, NC has prime packers for $2.99/lb and Kingsford Professional 36 pounds for $14.99 if anyone is interested and in that area

I wish I had one somewhere close to me  everyone always talks about how good the deals are on meat   but we do have a GFS so that"s where i usually get mine from

None of the Costco's around here carry packers, only flats & only choice.

Al, I never see the full packers here either only flats, wonder if they are stocking them now. Good reason for me to try to smoke one since I still haven't done one. They added pork belly too recently which has been great.

Ask their meat manager to get some prime packers for you, and start stuffing the comment box near the service counter. They're very receptive to the feedback, and will likely help you. I've done it with other items that they had discontinued in my local store, but still had at others, and they brought them back.

Weev, how has the quality been from GFS?  We have one that opened up no long ago near me and I recently went in to price ribs and saw they had a good deal on brisket (~$25 for the packer).  I had just scored a whole one the week before so I didn't buy it, was thinking I would go back and give them a try.  Let me know.

Hey FB, sorry about the slow response time its been a crazy week.   I have only gotten 3 briskets from them and all of mine seemed really good not to much of a fat cap or cut oddly, I have been very  happy with them. I was at wally world 2 weeks ago and they had them on sale but I didnt feel it was as good of a quality of meat, but it could have been my mistake in cooking as well.  I have gotten probly 10 double packs of the pork butts and they are awesome not to much cap left on those either and they seem to have the best price around me.

Yeah, we don't get packers in Memphis. I talked the meat manager and they've only had 2-3 times in however many years and it was because of a shipping mistake. Sadly, they don't carry spares either. Still great deals for chicken, chucks and ground beef.
