Swapped out my 20 plus glass top electric for a gas range!

Converted to propane, since no natural gas available near me...

I think gas is much better than electric....

NICE! I could never go back to any kind of electric range. Been on NG for 18 years and LOVE it. Our last house came with a Viking, but it was abused. when we did the kitchen reno we put in a Wolf. It was nice but kinda loud…the fan that keeps the gas lines “cool” was kinda obnoxious for what the damn thing cost. But it was a huge selling point when we sold the house. New house came with a Kitchenaid dual fuel. I really love it. GOt super lucky to find a house up here with NG. Very few have it.

NICE!

My perfect setup would be a gas top (with at least one crazy-powerful burner!) and an electric oven that gets hot enough for a decent pizza.

Unfortunately, that also means crazy-expensive!

I have often thought about doing the same, but doesn't the gas range require a hood that vents to the outside? That's been my main sticking point because it would be a real pain to plumb a hood up through the roof from where my range is.

Very nice! Gas is it for me for sure! We put a tank in our previous house just for gas too. We cut up the floor in our current house to run gas…. Have 6 burners @ 18k each….. perfection!

Apparently commercial gas stoves do, but not residential.
If the gas is burning efficiently, there is very little danger.

Mine burns blue, which it is supposed to do.

Have CO detectors anyway.

We have an LG propane 5 burner propane unit. I would love to switch to natural gas which is only about a .5 mile away from us, but they won't run the line to our neighborhood. The oven has a built in air fryer also.

ok I am jealous! We do not have gas at our house so I am stuck with an electric stove. Makes frying really difficult. Very nice!
Thanks! I had mine converted to propane at the appliance store where i bought it.

Grab yourself a propane tank and regulator.

We don’t have NG here, but I do have a 500 gallon propane tank buried in the front yard for the generator. I guess I could run a gas line to the kitchen & put in a gas range. But we have a nice electric range & had NG in our last house & a gas cooktop, with an electric convection oven. Miss it a bit, but we do just fine with the electric range.

I have a glass top with a convection oven. The glass is about impossible to keep clean if the next one who cooks can't be bothered to wipe it off before they cook. Whatever was left on the glass from the last cook gets burnt on and, even with a razor blade, it's about impossible to get all the burnt on stuff off.
