Convert a chest freezer to a smoker?

I have a 5 cubic foot chest freezer that quit working after six years. The cabinet is in perfect condition. I remember seeing an old refrigerator converted to annealer, which gets pretty hot, and wondered about converting this broken chest freezer. Are there any thoughts about this, or experienced smokers who could share some advise?  Thanks - D

Hello Dan.  I would try to figure a way to convert it to a stand up smoker.  I think it can be done.  Keep Smokin!
