Sometimes it's tough!

Love it! My two do the same thing when I'm reclining watching TV in the evenings

Gotta love em!

Love that picture! Most dogs love to cuddle, as does mine. I have to get down on the floor to cuddle with the dog we have now.

My wife has a very strict no dogs on the furniture rule from way back. We had picked up a pup when I was stationed in San Diego. Little furry pup full of pep. I knew he would be a biggish dog as his paws just looked so big on him at the time. For the first couple of weeks she had the habit of picking him up and putting him on her lap when watching tv. I told he a few times that if she kept that up he would think it was ok to do on his own when he got big enough to get up on his own. That cute little fur ball grew to be a bit over 100lbs. She did quit picking him up shortly after me telling her...repeatedly. I remind of that every now and then and get the stink eye from here.

I have no problem with a dog on the furniture providing they aren't in that 70lb+ range. The pup we have now, 60ish lbs, gets to sleep with me on an old sofa, but not on the recliners. My wife doesn't have a problem with that. She even took a picture of with the dog, that I wish I knew where it is, and you can't see him unless it is pointed out. Black sofa, black dog, me and the dog under a black throw blanket with only our heads sticking out. He is also allowed to sleep with us in the camper that somehow my wife allows.

No dogs on the furniture in our house. Our GSD is NOT as cuddle dog, either. If I get down on the floor to pet her, she'll tolerated it for about 30 seconds, then she's up and wandering away. She loves scratches (from anyone), but not a cuddle girl. Strange. She wants to be close to us - inside, outside, whatever, she's within a few feet, but don't crowd her personal space. lol

Lucy won't allow Bailey in my lap. She jumps up and gently pushes him down...

Our chihuahua is on the couches, chairs, golf cart and vehicles... But when it comes to the bed... It's all four on the floor... She has her own bed right next to mama... At dinner time she has to get up on the couch... No begging at the table ...

Love the pic!
I grew up with golden labs and retrievers, 3-4 dogs in a three bedroom house with one full bathroom and four kids. The dogs were wherever the kids were! It was wonderful chaos! That brings back fond memories 🤣

Thank you for the post!

Gotta love it. Older Golden Retriever and a younger Cocker Spaniel just as spoiled. Whenever I eat I have them just trying to get as close to my plate as possible just hoping for a handout.

Bedtime is the worst. The Golden starts out at the bottom corner of the bed but spreads himself out as much as possible overnight while I am sleeping and I often wake up not being able to stretch out my legs. If I dare try and move him to the other side of the bed I get a deep growling show of force that he is not happy to move.

The Cocker is the opposite, cute and cuddly. She usually sleeps on my side by my right leg but also likes to plop between my legs then will not move. I like to flip around while I sleep but this makes it not easy.

Funny thing. When my wife is on the bed and I go to give her a kiss the Cocker gets completely jealous. She barks loud and almost gets to the point of biting us but it is all show. After I kiss my wife Emma, the Cocker pushes forward to get her kisses in.
