Nice gift! We love CI cooking…our couple of skillets never leave the stovetop! They are used daily! Once you go CI… it’s hard to go back to regular cookware!

You’ll be hooked and eventually get into CI Dutch ovens for outside cooking!
 
Nice pan and a great gift ! I got one like that several years ago . It's my dedicated bacon frying pan . I have several others that were passed down from family too .

They make the cover for the loop handle too .

Nice gift congrats! I use mine many times a week. My 17" Lodge skillet lives on the the stovetop.
 
I gave my wife the exact same 12” Lodge this morning, as a big brother to some 100 year old family Griswold skillets we have. I also added the lid; harder to find, but I figured it would transform the big skillet into a shallow Dutch oven.
