I am in same boat , I did get a hand crank mixer that's good for 25lbs but have only used it a few times. Beats the old hand method lol.

That sausage is just gorgeous Ray!! Beautiful job sir, but something that takes 2 or 3 days to make should be perfect, and yours appears to be perfect for sure.

Wow Ray that sausage looks perfect. It definitely is a labor of love but totally worth it!

I could only imagine how great it tastes. Congrats on the carousel ride.

I got the hand crank mixer about 20 years back because mixing meat with my arthritic hands was getting painful Mike. I just found a picture of it here in a post I made five years ago. I used to screw it down on a sawhorse table and have my wife sit on the plywood to stabilize things while I cranked it. I just realized it made the move to AZ last year and is sitting out in the garage in a cabinet. Maybe I need to have a garage sale, I sure can't use it anymore. RAY

Thanks you Robert, I try to pay attention to detail and take pride in the sausage I produce. The reason it took that long is because this year I'll turn 69 rather than 49, that's life. Thanks for the Like, I do appreciate it. RAY

Very nice job on those. What mixer is that. I got one from cabelas that mounts to the grinder after my hand crank one broke. Haven’t tried it out yet but hope it lasts a while.

Yep, that's what I got FB. I've actually gotten about all my sausage making and meat smoking gear from Cabelas over the years. No complaints here, everything has worked flawlessly and lasted for quite some time now. RAY

SHR, Great post and awesome looking sausage !

Thank you crazymoon crazymoon , and thank you for the Like, I do appreciate it. It always kinds of weirds me out responding to a persons handle rather than a given name, I'm getting used to it, but if I ever learn your real name I'll try to remember it and respond accordingly. Of course if your real name is something like Cornelius or Bartholomew I'll try to shorten things up a bit. RAY

Thanks Denny, and thank you for the Like. I've been enjoying the heck out it for a couple of dinners. Last night I made about a one pound patty and cooked it on the stove like a burger with some cheddar to top it off, worked pretty well. RAY

Good morning Ray. Since you mentioned a garage sale, if you want to get rid of your old hand crank mixer let me know how much you might want for it. I'll cover shipping too if you would be interested. I don't have a mixer except for my hands, they get cold in that cold meat.

Thanks Ed

Good morning Ed. I'll have to move some stuff around in the garage to get to it, probably some time next week. It don't have the little rubber feet anymore, I used to screw in place on a plywood table with some 1x4 cleats to keep it steady. PM me your address and I'll find what it takes to get it shipped to your house. Other than the rubber feet missing I think it still works fine. RAY
