I remember a thread about these but cannot locate it. I'm talking about the 2 pack for $10 guys. I have run LOTS of these. I always considered these sorta sketchy so I would use a bold rub like Chef Paul Redfish magic and I would grill or broil in order to kinda hide that. I picked up 8 for V Day and wife "suggested" I try something different so for giggles I tried steaming one to test and I'll be damned, nothing sketchy at all! Test was truly straight up, no seasoning at all. All I did was thaw/split shell/clean and steamed 4-5m aiming for 135F+ IT. Still kinda shocked how well it went. Sorry no pics. Just wanted to pass the word.

I can't speak to frozen lobster as I've never consumed one that didn't start out alive but the only way I've ever cooked lobster is either boiled or steamed.

NICE (you suck). :emoji_laughing:

Where did you get them? I might have to grab a few
Kroger. They had a bunch here. They were running $9.99 ribeyes too but all sold out when I went.

I been air frying them in the Ninja Foodi 6 in 1. Actually come out pretty good. Next time steam snow crab will try that. Just did crab yesterday and got some good ones.

Nice I'll have to keep an eye out for that in Mansfield or the one near you if it's unique to the store.

Costco carries both cold water & warm water lobster tails, The cold water tails are great, the warm water tails I had sucked. I actually returned them, and I very rarely return cooked food.
Costco hard zero problems with the return, which is the main reason I continue to shop there.

We buy these 2 for $10 lobster tails from time to time. Best way I've found to cook them is to pull the meat out and cut into 1.5" or so cubes, beer batter, deep fry and serve with melted butter. Makes a great 'surf' for a 'Surf n Turf' plate.

Now I got myself all good and hungry for deep-fried lobster nuggets, thanks. 😆

Lets just say I cook a whole bunch of them....I cook them all the ways they can be cooked, unless you are spoiled and have access to fresh out of the water then nothing wrong with a frozen.

Just for reference one of the most expensive seafood (fish) in the world is frozen on the boat moments after it comes out of the water.....they use liquid nitrogen and take it to near minus 300.....

These two would have fallen into the cheap category.....

Same with these.....

PS I could fill the thread with past posts.....

They were 2 for $12 at my Kroger, so I skeptically got 2. Tonight's main course was to saute one in butter and make a lobster roll. Pretty darn good! Not sure what I'll do with the other one tomorrow.

We've been buying them for quite awhile and have always steamed them.

We've always buy whole lobsters alive and boil them. If you give them a prefreeze(two minutes) you won't have to listen to them scream when putting them in the pot.

Our super sale lobster usually end up as bisque. Grilled them, steamed them, like them best in a bisque.

They work good like this to.....these are the cheep $5 tails too.....

The wife is from New England and according to her, the only way to cook lobster is to steam, doing it any other way ruins the flavor of the lobster.

This reminds me to try poor man's lobster. I had totally forgotten about this.

My commercial fishing buddies, make this using Halibut boiled in Mexican 7up. The Mexican 7up is made with real sugar. When they told me about it, I was a little leery of it, but it's pretty damn good, not quite Lobster, but it could prob pass for it if you didn't know about it, and it was in a recipe. I've made it with saltwater Sturgeon as well.

Monkfish works well for this also.
