He certainly was. His knowledge of history and literature was beyond anything I've seen. I loved watching his debates on TikTok often.

I was going to say much the same., Adam. It is a despicable act to assassinate someone you disagree with for political reasons no matter which side of the aisle you are on.

Let's not turn this thread into a political debate and leave this thread to honor a man who was gunned down for his beliefs and left a family behind ...... a widow and kids who will now grow up with just a memory of their father.

I agree. Our son is 17. This world isn't good right now.

I feel for you. My daughters are 11 and 7. The idea that someone can be assassinated for different views literally makes me sick. I grew up in a family with folks on both sides of the political spectrum. Holidays were entertaining as there were disagreements and name calling, but it was all in fun, nothing like we see today. I miss those days...I miss the days that despite our political differences, we were all Americans first. I feel like that world is gone and never coming back.

Heartbreaking to hear of this! I am getting older, but I remember a time when if politics, religion, etc… was brought up. We may not have the same view as another person, and always some $hit was given back and forth… just in fun! But after all we were all Americans, shook hands, wasn’t obligated or wasn’t going to change our viewpoints on either way we looked at things… but though didn’t agree with the other person, we respected their opinion though we didn’t see things the same way. Sat down and enjoyed a friendship, relative or relationship over a cold beverage of choice.

I sure hope we can get back at that. In the same boat as pc farmer my daughter and son are 18 & 16 respectively… and been where Quiganomics is currently.

My fams prayers have went out to Charlie and his beautiful young fam left behind senselessly.

We have a fam friend named Matt that actually worked alongside Charlie for a while and were good friends. Wife and daughter went to see him and his wife today… he is saddened and with disbelief that his friend is gone.

Spot on Quiganomics … but I am holding out hope that this horrific, despicable and flat out heinous act will bring a light as to why violence has NOT a place in today’s world. Maybe?!

Mental illness exists and is Huge!

Not to take away from CK… again… thoughts, prayers and love to him and his fam. Heartbroken!!!

Take the lady on the subway that was just going home… a small framed Ukrainian girl… just wanting a better life. Minding her own self… But, she died by herself as no one until it was too late tried to help! After some guy thought she said something to him… stabbed her in the throat repeatedly …she done nothing wrong!! She come to the US and in the town she chose… she trusted them… and some guy who’s own Mom said he should not be allowed in the general public! Stabbed her to death!

I will say, we are all immigrants to the best Nation Under God!! We as said nation need to get this non sense under control!

I love this country with every fiber of my being… due to some circumstances I was not able to join the Armed Forces! But I love each and every person that rightfully puts on that uniform every day or did so… you have my highest respect!

So, I will be the guy and ban me if need be… but we have to get better control/restrictions on people that are just out to hurt others… and that’s their goal in life!

Well said, you hit every point in a classy way, and I'll just leave it at that. I had to edit this post as I was typing it as it would likely be seen as political, which I guess is a no-no. I believe this to be part of the problem in modern society...when it becomes taboo to talk about your views, the human element gets lost, losing the ability to conversate and see where the other side may be coming from, and in turn the opposition becomes sub-human which leads to violence. That said, I'll respect the site rules and move on to getting ready to finally run my 120 gallon offset for its maiden voyage.

Not trying to be political here… but we all
Know that was likely the case here.

I am Conservative and proud of it… but when there is a speaker from a side I don’t agree with… violence has never even crossed my mind in the slightest.

There are some points I agree with on both sides… mostly on the Conservative side… but always willing to listen to the other side and their thoughts! I am not a close minded person.

Once upon a time, they locked up mentally ill people to keep them from harming those around them. These days, it takes an act of God to lock these harmful people away.
