I usual buy my year supply of charcoal Memorial Weekend but not seeing any sales this year. Anybody know anything? Also looking for Pellet sales.

At walmart they have RO briquettes 18 lb bag x2 for 8.88 for both. its not an advertised sale but its a good price and they are better than kingsford!

If you're looking for a years supply of pellets (assuming you are running a pellet grill) then check out BBQPelletsOnline.com. They have LumberJack for about $8/20lbs. You'll need to buy a minimum of 520lbs. Tell them where you are located and they'll put a group buy together for you.

Like Brian, I've been watching for charcoal sales. Usually they've been posted by now. If I don't see anything by end-of-day this Thursday, I'm going to write off seeing any sales for the Memorial Weekend and hope for July 4th sales. I suspect the suppliers have been impacted by the pandemic shutdown for businesses so the retailers are maintaining their available stock.

I usually burn through 60 lbs / month in the summer without giving much thought to using charcoal in the WSM and Kettle. I've got 13 x 15.4 bags (200 lbs) left from last year's sales. If I don't see any sales by July 4th, I'll shift into miserly-use mode; smoke to the stall then shut down and finish in the oven. The Vortex has cut my Kettle charcoal usage in about half by increasing efficiency.

Worst case I'll buy retail as needed. Might have to make a trip to Wally World. Thanks, Aaron!

This the first year I ran out of Charcoal. Now that I have the pellet smoker I guess I will be using less.

noboundaries noboundaries Home Depot had kingsford 2 x 20lb bag pack for $20 last weekend. That's not a bad deal, it use to be a little cheaper. Not as good that RO walmart deal, but I haven't seen that here in NorCal.
