I'm also interested in your fire box specifics. I am working up designs on an old fridge we just got and I want to put the FB in the bottom too. How specifically did you determine the FB to CC hole size ?

I'm thinking it's close to 6" X 10". Not sure there's an exact measurement so I'll probably go with that and fabricate a damper if it's getting too much heat.
