I do not know if the caveman had coffee but I do know that I never feel right unless it is cool enough that I can sit in front of a fire with a coffee..

Huge boneless rib eye - salt, pepper, garlic, onion, smoked paprika - on the fire - 4-minutes each side (it's a thick steak). Look at those beautiful post oak coals!

The end.

That looks killer! I have a huge bone in ribeye that's for dinner later tonight.

Man I am stuffed now; I could only eat half. I guess I am an old caveman... 🫡

Man, that is an awesome steak done my way.

Soooooo good. For the people that are afraid of rare, the inside of a piece of meat is sterile - only the outside (or where you pierce it with a fork or knife etc) can get bacteria.

Peeerfect rare and very tender. 🫡

Moooooooo! Great job RS... love the contrast in colors from the bark to the inside!

I was expecting steak cooked directly on the coals, no grate.
But this is probably a hotter fire; cooking directly on the coals smothers the fire a little bit.
I have done it a few times and it very good - better with mesquite than post oak though. I will do one soon!

Looks more raw than rare but I could forch myself to eat it :emoji_laughing:

Now that speaks to me! Very nice, and I would be fighting chop for a cold day after slice! I like to do slices with some seasoned cream cheese and a nice cracker...... A whole plate!
