Some of you already know that I have had to borrow a camera to take pics of my smokes. While shopping online this morning for a new camera, I stumbled across this. It is basically a free repair on certain models of canon cameras for a problem that I am having. We can take the pic (view finder not showing anything) after you snap the shot, it is black. I have just sent customer service an email and I hope they will fix my camera for free.

Just thought there might be other Canon users out there with the same problem before you pay for the repair or throw out the camera.

We had that happen about 6 months ago to our Canon Powershot S1 IS that we bought back in 2002. I returned to the photoshop where we purchased it. Canon ended up replacing it with the Powershot S3 IS. It was a newer version with a couple of more bells & whistles. Worked out really well for us. Brand new camera after 5 years of using the old one.

Wow Foozer!......can't beat that deal with a stick!!

Thanks for the heads-up Andy!!

Glad to hear that. I have been without my own camera for about 6 months now and was going to throw it out til this morning. Still plan on purchasing better one and the kids can use this one if it gets fixed.
