Just a little heads up for all of us who are making plans for the 4th.
Louisiana as in other states is in a severe drought.
They have issued a burn ban as of 6-25-09.
this includes any trash fire ,bon fire or CAMP FIRE.
Also many areas are banning fireworks for the 4th.

You may want to phone ahead to the area you are camping in to make sure that there are no burn bans in the area.
HAPPY 4th To ALL!

Had something like this happen about 6 years ago when I lived in MD. We organized this multi-family camping trip about 2 weeks before the actual date. We put a reservation on the web site, but when we showed up the guy in charge said that we could not have any open fires. I was shocked, and then pissed when the guy said that we could not get our money back. I asked how long the ban had been in place and he said a month. I went back home and called the reservation office and demanded my money back. She said no, so I asked to speak to a manager. When the manager got back on I explained that there was nothing indicated on the web site when we made our reservation about the ban. Had there been, I would not have made the reservations. She caved and refunded all our money.

you could live in a state where fireworks are illegal all the time, pretty sure half the cars in eagleville missouri will have iowa plates this weekend, last year when we went on a wednesday night we counted, four MO plates and 30 + iowa plates at the shop we hit just across the border.

Another odd thing about louisiana. As most know we have parishes instead of counties.
One parish may not allow fireworks at all some allow them in unincorperated areas and some allow them anywhere.
This year it looks like they won't be allowed anywhere.
they have cancelled most of the big fireworks displays.
Luckily the one here is done out in the middle of the mississippi river so i think it will go on.
w/ temps of 100 and indexs of 108 - 115 don't think i'll be doing much camping.

If MO had cheap women, you'd be all set!

We too have had an abundance of rain this year in East TN. Opened up some of the spillways to lower river water levels.

On the bright side, my maters plants are huge. Almost 6 feet tall.
