This is based off a 250 gal propane tank with a 2.5ft cube for firebox with a warmer box on top. The 250gal cooker chamber is 7.5ft long with a 30in diameter.

Are you building the cooker yourself? If so, there are some good documents on this forum on how to calculate your airflow through the cooker.

Yes i am building it myself. And i would be glad to see your math equations to calculate everything to make the perfect tuneable smoker for air flow.

I also have a amazing idea (at least i think so) for a internal butterfly system for exhaust with a custom gauge rig to let the cook know how much dampening effect is happening on the exhaust.

Welcome to the forum glad to have you. You have come to great place to get ideas and some help. Nice to see you doing a plan before starting the build.

Thank you very much! Glad to be here just wish i had found yall sooner.

Sorry I see the 2 axles now I will go back to my corner now
Lol i was worried if i should put bigger axles under it but i think im ok. My only concern is the extra weight on only one side and not so evenly distributed and what kid of wear that will cause on wheel bearings and tires. Maby even handling. I figured if i put the water tank on the other side to try and balance it out.

7 feet sounds like a lot of real estate....but it probably isn’t enough to create the sort of floor plan you have drawn. If the smoker is 30” wide, you will need to add about 4” for door handles, etc. You more than likely will be needing to pull the cooking grates out occasionally, so add another 16-20” for those and you are up to at least a 54” space claim for the smoker. Assuming the shelves you depict opposite the cooker are 24” deep, that leaves you with 6” of clearance to work around the smoker when the grates are extended. You may be ok with than, but please understand creates a very unsafe work area. The only way I could see the current design working would be to design a “bump out” system for the counters and shelves to free up workspace in front of the smoker. Since this is your first build, I would recommend concentrating on getting the smoker designed and build before getting too worried about the trailer lay out. Once the smoker is built, you will have a much better handle on how it will safely fit on the trailer. Good luck

Thanks for the input i hadnt thought about space needed for my racks to pull out. Do you think it would be better to just leave the space across from the smoker empty. I kinda just extened the counter and shelfs in the diagram cause i didnt know what else to put there. If need be i can order my trailer for 20ft. I havent made my offical order yet just kinda discussed it with the guy what my idea is. Hes a custom trailer builder and im having him build my utility trailer to custom specs. www.bigfoottrailers.net

Yes, I would leave the space in front of the grates open. One could potentially raise the floor to create a storage bin, but I am not sure the pain would be worth the gain. A cooker that size will probably run between 1200 and 1600 lbs. it will more than likely be tail heavy towards the firebox. That will all need to be factored into placement on the trailer so you can keep the center of gravity correct. Since you are planning a custom trailer, see if the trailer guy can wait until after you build the cooker. I am pretty sure once you start the build, your “kitchen” design is going to evolve.

Thats all fine with me. So should i move the unit forward cause most of the trailers i see are usually to the back. Hmmmm....... Let me design a new floor plan and ill send it to you see what you thing
