16 pounder!! Hardly had to trim much fat


All rubbed up with love.


Onto the smoker she goes.



Smokin at 225, see ya in about 16 hours with the finished results!!
 
Now THAT is one big hunk of beauty. Can't wait to see what she looks like tomorrow.
I know what I'm dreaming about tonight.
 
Around 5 hours in. its now 11:00 here in vegas, see ya'll in the morning with the finished brisket.

, no updates to keep my up while I smoke my puny 13 pound brisket on my "Non Technical" Charcoal smoker?

Looks Good either way! I'll be looking forward to seeing the finished product!

What brand of smoker are you using?
 
That is one big hunk of meat ya got there, but I'm sure it's going to be tasty! What kind of rub did you use on it and what kind of wood are you using to kiss that baby?

7:30 a.m. brisket is at 190, taking it off to wrap in foil and off to the cooler for a few hours.


The smoker is a traeger 124, just picked it up 3 weeks ago. Every time I use it, I feel like im cheating because I don't have to stay up all night like I had before. The only reason I purchased it was due to me getting it sooooo cheap!

I am smoking with cherry on this brisket. The rub is my own that I make.

1/4 cup coarse salt
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/4 cup paprika
3 tbs fresh ground black pepper
1 tbs garlic powder
1 tbs onion powder
1 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp celery salt
 
9:30 a.m. just out of the cooler


first few slices



All sliced up with some of my q sauce



smoke ring


turned out great!!! wife likes it so I am safe again! lol

Looks really good. Thanks for sharing the rub recipe and the info on the smoker. Thats the first one of them I've seen.
