i was looking at a brisket and saw the usda stamp on the package but there was no choice or prime on it. nothing. is that like the worst grade of meat or is it equil to choice? help!

It is select probably. It usually goes inspected, select, choice, then prime.

cool thanks. are they any good or should i go for the choice ones. they both are about the same price. $3 to $3.50 lb.

It never hurts to get the best you can afford, but personally since I am on a budget, I get the lower grade. Never had anyone complain. Usually since their mouth was too full

Yes it's a good cut of meat and the fact that it is marked is a good thing too.
