Looks great, Case. One of my favorite meals as well after growing up near the brat capitol of the U.S. Homemade kraut is so much better that the store bought. I made a batch with red cabbage this year. Turned out well.
Thank you Jon!

Lucky you! We don't get a long enough growing season for cabbage. So everything has to come from the store!
I grew some nice reds this year so figured what the heck. A slight difference in taste but still good.
That looks great but I'm in a similar boat here...While Bev and I love Kraut, the kids are not thrilled with it. So 2 lbs, a couple times a year is a lot for us. I have made my own but kind of not worth the work for this crew...JJ
I see what you mean. We had our first frost since April here last week.We get 60-70 days, with freezes in there every once and a while. This year our garden sucked. Lettuce and raspberries was all we got. Crazy!
Dang man, that last pic is killer stuff.
I know I would eat that.
Points to you, Sir.

I grew all of my cabbage, I had like 34 huge heads of the Flat Dutch that turned out Okay for my use but next year I'm changing back to the Round Dutch that is much smaller. I'd like to try the red of kraut but I never had much luck growing the reds. This should have been a good year for growing cabbage but when I see the prices in the stores I see differently. Good Luck with the Reds..
dirtsailor2003, that looks like an amazing meal!! I just happen to have some brats in the freezer. Know what I will making with them now. Problem is I already have a list of meals to make lol
I don't like kraut,I had to microwave it for a senior citizen with butter on it as a youth. But the brats look tasty,I won't make my own they would be to easy to overdose on.
