Thanks Pomai, I was planning on using the soy/sugar mix...a lot cheaper, but thought the glaze sauces sounded really good to finish on chicken or fish like shellbec had mentioned. $11.00 for 3 bottles of different flavors isn't to awfully bad but maybe they nail you on the shipping, gonna see if they have anything similar in the grocery store first.

The Hawaiian Luau Plate looks great, I'm not to sure of the Squid Luau, While I love squid(and sashimi as well) that doesn't look to pleasing to the eye....how would you describe the flavor??

Yeah, the squid luau does look a bit disgusting, but it's VERY tasty! It's made by boiling down taro leaves (from the root that's used to make poi) until it turns into a soft mash.. similar to how you'd make spinach. Then it's cooked together with diced squid (calamari) or octopus (tako), coconut milk and onions. It's one of the most traditional of Hawaiian foods, and also found in various form on polynesian islands throughout the pacific islands.

In fact our mainland guests were reluctant to eat it because of its appearance, but after one bite they were hooked!

Have you ever had Thai Coconut Curry? Think that, but instead of the curry, it's mixed with Spinach. It's hard to explain. You just need to try it!
