"alelover" I found that searing the meat before throwing it into the smoker did add another flavor level to it. however, this being the first chuckie i have ever done i cant 100% confirm that answer for you. darn... i guess i will have to smoke 2 more chuckies at the same time and have one seared and the other not. all other elements of the smoke will remain the same. oh the punishment of having to go through that. hehe
