Great photos! Thank you for sharing. How did you avoid smoking PP for everyone?
I'm half way to the 50th reunion. Haven't Made one personally yet. I think I'll wait until the 50th. Won't have cars like that though!
Thank you for your service!
Thank You Much!!

I still thought it was going to be a Pig Roast, until two days prior, but I couldn't handle that much work any more.

And Thank You for your Service too!!

Thank You Justin!!

It really was a lot of fun. I hadn't seen Donnie (55 Chevy) for awhile, and he & his wife sat at our table.

Great pics, Bear!

Hope you had a great time!

I'm 6 years ahead of you. Didn't make our 55th last year. We've got a class member who has a 31 Model A that he brings. I remember him driving it in the homecoming parade our senior year.

Your class was prime for Vietnam. I'm not surprised at all that so many served. Thank you for your service! Send my thanks to your classmates as well.

Love the Cheby

Fine looking bunch.I like the name tags,In another 10 years you will have to add return home address in case someone gets lost or turned around. I was born in 1949 . I'm getting there also.              Hope all of you make many more.  Stacy

Thank You RH !!!

I have a Sister who has her 55th this year, and a Brother who has his 55th next year.

We lost at least 2 Classmates to Vietnam.

Thanks Red !!

Exactly---Seems the older we get the more fun it is to see old friends.

I get a little of that every month, as a bunch of us meet on the last Thursday of each month for Breakfast. There's usually between 9 and 20 of us, and 8 of the 20 are Vietnam Vets (7 Army---1 Marine). We have a Riot at that Breakfast !!

Thanks again Red,

Bear

Great pics Bear, and brings up good memories being a kid.  Back in '72 I had a '69 SS 396 Chevy Nova (375 hp/square port heads, Holley double pumper, and Sig Erson full race cam) that I sold back in the '80s because I needed the money - sure wish I could have kept that car.

I've not had the opportunity to attend any of my reunions - life mostly seems to get in the way.

I too had a 69 nova SS  396     If you don't know it will make you sick there were not many made and are real

rare now and fetch a heft price.   Wish I would have kept mine.  Two others I wish I would have saved  a 71 SS 454 Chevelle

and a 66 SS Chevelle.

Thanks Idaho!!

There was a few of them around here when I came home from Vietnam, because most of my Buddies were (are) Chevy Men.

I have always had Mopars. My Son has all Dodge Trucks, but he has a 2008 'Vette, and a '68 Camaro (600 HP).

I think he's trying to sell the Camaro.

I know, Gary - makes me sick to think of it - I sold mine for $2000, and am embarrassed to admit it!  I loved that car, but I'm not sure the Chevy engineers took the engine weight into consideration - that big block was so heavy I had problems with my front suspension bushings.

I love Mopar - my favorite classic engine of all time is the 426 hemi - never had a vehicle with one, but they are the foundation on which many super cars were built.

The memories of those years back in the late 60's and 70's are priceless

Gary & Idaho,

Here's a place I used to spend a lot of Sunday afternoons----Vargo's Dragway.  Drag-strip Closed in 1969. (Farmers took NHRA and Lehigh Valley Timing Association to court---Farmers won).

Lots of memories of Muscle cars in this little Video:

It looks like it was a great time. It is too bad the food wasn't up to par.

However, the only thing better than good food is good friends and family. As for the car, I want it!

Those were some nice cars, Bear - thought I saw a Chevy Vega near the end right after the super Camero.  Reminded me of the Cosworth Vega, all black with gold pin striping.  I sure did want one of those when I was a kid.

Yup---That was a fun Sunday afternoon, going to the drags. I ran a little car a few times too---Nothing hot.

They still have reunions there since it closed in 1969.

The local farmers used to sit on the hill (above the strip) & watch for free. Then they complained about the noise on Sundays, and said their chickens weren't laying & the cows weren't giving milk.

Then they took the National Hotrod Association & the Lehigh Valley Timing Association to court, and eventually the farmers one, and that was the end of Vargo's Dragway.

By the way---My favorite old muscle was 1969 Dodge Charger, but the closest I ever got to owning one was a 1967 Dodge Coronet 440.
