I am the medical director for a local charity providing services to victims of rape, sexual assault and abuse, child abuse, strangulation, etc. Yesterday I did pulled pork sammiches for our annual event, Walk A Mile In Her Shoes. This aims to get everyone out in support of victims, but particularly MEN, and we ask them to walk a (symbolic) mile in red high heels to show support and raise awareness. It's a great event, raises money to pay our nurses for the year and honors victims and supports survivors.

Seeing many of our cops and firemen walking in red high heels in full gear is really awesome, and we're getting lots of families bringing their kids, as well - which is great to see, as this is a problem in every community that needs to be discussed and brought out into the open.

Here's the video montage from yesterday's event, a great time was had by all, in spite of it being a bit cooler and much windier than we'd prefer. Next year will be our 10th year doing this, so we're really hoping to make it an even bigger event.

Enjoy!

That's fantastic!! Good on you and all the others who help make these events possible...

Great cause and good on you for stepping up for the program
