@JLinza and @SmokinEdge and anyone else on the Colorado western slope.

I’m seeing a lot of fire activity out your way. Sending prayers that all remain safe.

You folks are having a hot dry summer this year and Utah just shared their flames with us…

These are the fires burning now in the general area.

South Rim fire- 4251 acres- 14% contained

Sowbelly fire- 2274 acres- 24% contained

Deer Creek fire- 15892 acres- 17% containment

Turner Gulch fire- 15286 acres - 34% containment

BIL & SIL were camping near north rim I think, and went home early due to all the ash.

The fire is kinda tamped down now but for several days when it first started the glow in the night sky was impressive to say the least.

Damn, that’s a lot of acreage burnt and not much containment! Prayers to those battling the blazes… that is one tough job! Also prayers to those who may be in the path. At the very least, just get out! Material things though devastating to lose can be replaced… if you’ve your loved ones… things can always be rebuilt.

Stay safe and aware… again prayers to all!

Been ok here so far, just lots of smoke. Had a fire start between Buena Vista and Clear Creek, last week. But fire crews got that one out fast. Thanks for lookin out @sandyut

Damn! Y'all need all that rain from Texas and Louisiana!!!!

This is the first yr in many that half of CA isn't burning out of control.
I guess I shouldn't of said that, as there is plenty of hot weather left for us.

Those fires burning up your way look pretty bad.

I can't hang with smokey skies anymore. Asbestos has taken a toll on my lungs, so when the skies get smokey I basically have to shelter in place next to my HEPA filter air scrubbers, or inside a store or vehicle that has fresh in cabin air filters, it truly sucks.

Hang in there, fella's.
