I put this 10 pounder on last night at 8:30 . The RT700 was preheated to 225. It’s now 7:30 and I’ve got an IT of 170. Sunday dinner will be around 3 pm so everything is running right on time. I gave it a sprits of ACV and water mix and closed the lid to let it do it’s thing. So far I’m impressed with the RecTec 700.

Although the 700 is Wi-Fi capable I wanted to use my trusty Tappecue to test if the units temp settings were correct. For a perfect 225 chamber temp I need to set the smoker at 220. No big deal. It holds temp rock solid.

Thank Richie. It appears this new machine and I are going to get along just fine. B

So how’s the pellet consumption go does that one still have a 40lb hopper
Hi Ed. The 700 does indeed have the 40 pound hopper located in the back. I’m guessing this butt will take 20 pounds of pellets . Maybe a bit more. This is the first cook and we are just getting to know each other lol. So I’m not 100% sure how many pounds it will burn.
