Alright here's the deal, I'm leaving for Dallas Fort Worth tomorrow afternoon (wife has a work conference). Were driving to KC Missouri to stay the night and spend Saturday before driving to Dallas Saturday night. Cowboys game Sunday at 1pm and then who knows what. Wife has work meeting during the day through Wednesday. When we leave to come home wed night or Thursday morning were looking at stopping in St. Louis for the night before heading home. So I guess my questions would be where to eat in these great towns?

I picked KC to stay the night cause it's about half way and it's full of bbq joints. I plan on eating at Arthur Bryant's Barbeque as I've heard great things about it. In dallas I plan on eating at lockharts cause I've heard great parts about that place as well. I have no idea about St. Louis, I just know budweiser is there!! Lol.

So anyone from KC Missouri, Dallas Texas, and St. Louis Missouri please help me out with great bbq spots I should check out!

Thanks!

I like Oklahoma Joes BBQ in KC better than Arthur Bryant's, but everyone has their own opinion.  Couldn't go wrong with either.  Grew up in STL, and cant for the life of me remember eating at any bbq places except for my backyard, not that there aren't any good ones.  That being said, skip the bbq in STL and go eat on The Hill...very good Italian to be had there.  I love Zias, their seafood pasta (Tutto Mare) is to die for, and have some toasted raviolis too...STL is famous for them.

Appreciate the info. Leaving after work today and can't wait!

I've heard some real good things about a place in STL called sugar fire or something like that? I'll look it up when I get there.

If you happen to pass through Tulsa, try Burn Co. at 18th and Boston. Just south of our downtown area. Good eats. They are from the Hasty Bake family. We also have an Oklahoma Joe's but it is in the suburb of Broken Arrow. Next to Bass ProShop.

Might be passing through Tulsa tomorrow so I'll check it out! Thanks!

Ok just ate at arthur Bryant's smokehouse and it was incredible! Leaving for Dallas in a few minutes with a stop in Tulsa for dinner. Still not sure where yet. I'm still up for any suggestions.

The plan of heading back home through St. Louis is off. Wife surprised me with a trip to nashville (favorite city on earth) on the way home next week! So I'll be eating at martins bbq (one of my favorites).

Heading out now!

If you are stopping in tulsa for dinner, then your best bet is Oklahoma joes over in broken arrow. Rib Crib is OK and they have a few restaurants around town. Albert G's in the mid town area is an option too.

Texas Monthly in 2013 rated rated Pecan Lodge as the #2 BBQ spot in the State. Its at Shed #2 at the Dallas Farmers Market. Never been myself but supposed to be the best in North Texas.

Let us know where you end up and how it is.

Oops, looks like the moved to Deep Ellum in Downtown Dallas.

Burn co and Oklahoma joes both closed before I arrived in Tulsa (20 minutes ago). I switched it up to steak. Dining at a place called Blue Stone Steak House now. Just ordered a ribeye. Have to imagine the Okies have great steak!

I looked at pecan lodge while researching dallas the other day tbrtt1. I'm gonna try to get there in the next few days. I'll give you a report.

Blue stone was fantastic! I had the ribeye and my wife had the bacon wrapped filet both were amazing! That ribeye I had is easily in the top 5 steaks I've ever eaten!

I'll do a quick write up with pics on the places I visited and the things I ate soon. The trip was awesome! So many great places across this country to stop and eat at! 'Merica!!!

Nice. The wife and I have to go to Tulsa tomorrow so we'll have to give it a try.

Check it out and let me know what you think. I spent just over an hour sitting in Oklahoma and it was at that place. It was awesome! I figured if I couldn't get to Burn Co. Why not eat steak? Oklahoma is known for cattle! It paid off! Great meal.

Only issue I had was we were a little underdressed. Lol! Showed up an hour before close in a tshirt! O'well what can you do? I was running on 4 hours sleep in the past two days and trying to make dallas (ended up getting to dallas at 2:30am).
