I just couldn't do anything right this weekend. Smoked chicken to salty. Think I had an enhanced chicken then cured it. Ribs came out dry and bad taste. Think they where in the freezer to long. I like sweet relish and miracle whip potato salad and decide to try mayonnaise and dill relish. Not a fan. Tried a devil egg recipe that used tabasco. Not good. Tried a new dinner roll recipe and turned out bad and went into the trash. Tried making some shrimp and scallop ceviche. More food for the trash. Time to order pizza and put this weekend behind me. I normally make pretty good food. Back to the basics!!!

Hey it happens to all of us...but at least you’re trying new things. You can’t say you don’t like it if you never tried it.

Oh well, that's how we ALL learn. Sometimes things just don't work out. Good news is the next weekend in only a week away! :emoji_relieved:

The silver lining is that failures are the best teachers. I'm going to assume you and your family did not go hungry over the weekend? Could be worse... Better luck on your next cook!

Hahaha - Now I know I am not the only one!

Great post. Failures happen to all of us. Sorry you had such a tough weekend, but I love the fact that you try all of those new things.

Wow tough run of luck, but it can only get better right? I hope.
And thanks for posting this, I think most people read all the great posts and don't know that everyone has days like this.

It only me. At least I made good breakfasts. Sourdough waffles and eggs benedict both where great.

That's a really good point! We all have days like that. I'm pretty new to BBQ so I haven't planned any of my cooks for guests yet due to my hit or miss experiences and Murphy's law. Kudos to you for sharing your mishaps!

Been there done that. Spent one evening trying red wine and mushrooms into a sauce. Dang that was awful and wife didn't even try to sugar coat it. "Hon that is putrid".

I've been there man, we all have. There will be a time in the near future where you totally redeem yourself and you can forget all about this weekend.

Sounds like you may have become the dogs best friend. They never complain about dry ribs, or heavy dinner rolls.
When you know you have a problem, is when the dog turns his nose up and avoids what you cooked. Please don't ask me how come I know this !
