For a kid, especially a female loving raw oysters, That IS remarkable. I love raw oysters AND clams. Haven't had the clams as much but there was a restaurant group in Northern Virginia (that awful DC megalopolis now, I avoid it like the plague...nothing like decades ago) called the Clyde's Group that the company I worked for 25 years ago did a lot of their metalwork for, both custom kitchens and front of the house ornamental metals. They went full "raw bar" in addition to their many other awesome foods and I used to go happy hour when they had half price shellfish and drinks and just pound-down both! All kinds of different clams and oysters. Good times.
