Picked the first balcony tomato today
Was planning a BLT but changed to a bacon cheese burger deluxe.

I took the top slice and wife got the second slice in her salad.
Wife cooked onions
Generous mustard in the bottom bun. Dukes on the top bun.
That is my dry cured bacon. I was planning 2 slices (4 pieces) but wife decided she wanted some in her salad.
Bread is my sour dough loaf.
Lots of tomato to eat tomorrow

Any thoughts on re-using the dirt in the planter bed from the year before? Or should start fresh after the winter? We have raised beds to grow stuff in so the rabbits don't get to them. Occasionally the squirrels go after the tomatos. Not sure why as they seem to take one bite and drop them lol.

That’s a nice BBCLT (bacon, burger, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Nice work and I’m jealous of the fresh mater.

I plan on using mine in the beds and planter bags. Mine settled in the raised bed so I'll top with 10" new mix. Pots / bags I plan on half emptying and topping off.

That burger looks awesome and I'm totally jealous of fresh tomatoes already! I'm at least 3 months from those c

Thanks for the likes and comments everyone.
I was planning a BLT for the first tomato, but it was supper so I broke out the weber and amped it up with a burger patty.

Garden back north the deer will take a bite out of a fresh tomato and prune the vegetation, too.
We leave in about a month and my plan is to cut back the foliage and leave the bucket for the summer. Next winter I'll just stir it up and dig in another plant. The rotting roots will replenish the organic matter.
Back north we do the same with my wife's flower pots.

If you’re looking to upgrade your car’s performance, quality components make all the difference. I recently started researching options for my ride and discovered a lot of value in BMW engine parts when it comes to reliability and longevity. Swapping out worn components or upgrading certain parts can dramatically improve horsepower and efficiency. It’s also a great way to maintain resale value while keeping your car running smoothly. Make sure to source parts from reputable suppliers to avoid any issues down the line.
That burger sounds incredible. Fresh tomato, dry cured bacon, sourdough, and all the toppings, perfect combo.

Wow old thread and either didn't get or see the email notice. Thanks for the reply.
I got 3 ripe tomatoes in 2024 from the Florida balcony.
Last year I switched to cherry tomato and not much better results. Changed to herbs this year. Overabundance is all I can say
