So I just got my Auber PID in the mail. my question is where to put the probe. I do a lot of smoking that requires hanging from dowels like snack sticks and bacon so I don't want to attach it to a wire rack because they probably won't be used. Any suggestions? TIA
 
Just let it hang down in between the snack sticks.. making sure it doesn't touch any of them ...
 
Here's a thread from when I did mine . Shows how I mounted the probe . I have a gen 1 mes 30 . I re-used the mounting hardware that was used for the stock ( useless ) meat probe . Don't know what model you have , but if it has the meat probe and a rear controller it should have the grommet and the brackets .
 
Also , I use mine most of the time for sausage and hams . The location works great for that . If you get it to high your temps will be to low in the rest of the smoker .
