So I just got my Auber PID in the mail. my question is where to put the probe. I do a lot of smoking that requires hanging from dowels like snack sticks and bacon so I don't want to attach it to a wire rack because they probably won't be used. Any suggestions? TIA

Here's a thread from when I did mine . Shows how I mounted the probe . I have a gen 1 mes 30 . I re-used the mounting hardware that was used for the stock ( useless ) meat probe . Don't know what model you have , but if it has the meat probe and a rear controller it should have the grommet and the brackets .

Also , I use mine most of the time for sausage and hams . The location works great for that . If you get it to high your temps will be to low in the rest of the smoker .
