Sounds like a very pleasant day to me!CS, I love SG&B, have it twice a month at camp before fishing. Makes a good drinking base for those "slow bite" days in the boat.
Yumm Steve. That was the SoS I grew up. I'm surprised my WWII veteran father would enjoy it too. He said the Army serving was OK and definitely no dried beef..Looks great Mike! I have some dried beef laying around. I might make me a breakfast.
Hi Mike,I hadn’t had biscuits and gravy for a very long time, it was something we had often as a boy, so I decided to make a batch for Saturday morning breakfast.
I baked a batch of biscuits using this recipe. they turned out well.
1 pound of homemade sausage pressed to about 1/2 inch thick.
Fry on one side over medium heat until browned.

Flip and fry the other side until brown.

Chop up the fried sausage.

Add to the skillet
6 tablespoons flour
1 qt of milk
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of poultry seasoning
1/2 teaspoon of onion salt

Stir until it thickens to your liking

Serve over biscuits. (I add a heavy dose of salt and black pepper after it’s on my plate, because the wife doesn’t like as much salt and pepper as I do, that way we can both have it how we like it!)

As always, thanks for looking!
God bless…

Thank you sir!Looks fantastic! Only 6 tablespoons of flour, eh? And just milk, not cream.
I could eat that over simple toast and make things real easy. But I'm with you: it needs lots of black pepper!
You got it Bill!Hi Mike,
I gotta say that is a quintessentially American thing. Not sure you'll find it anywhere outside the US but I sure want to try it.
Cheers!
Bill
Thanks John! You definitely stirred up a lot of comfort food memories.
