BBQ smoker mods - was looking at this baffle to order for my landmann offset smoker.

And why does it say not to use the exhaust pipe extender with this mod?

Yes. I have. I ordered a baffle for my char griller. I have the 1224 smoking pro model that I've modified quite a bit. I just used the baffle for the first time just the other day. It worked really well as far as keeping the temperature evenly distributed across the cooking chamber. I like it so far. These two pork butts turned out great.

Oh sorry. I can't speak on the exhaust extender. Not sure on that one.

Yes, I bought me convection plate from them for my OK Joe. It works great and yes, do not extend the exhaust down as the plates radiate the heat up to the food.

Yes, I have the plate for the Char Griller too, and I kept the extension tube on. Works good!  Temps hold even all across the cooking chamber.
