This deflector is looking sexy. The edges are all returned through 3x90* bends,
that should baffle the smoke to the other end

Looks good. Saw your reference to RMB. What kind of smoke wood do you have available in your part of China? I had a difficult time finding good hardwood there.

Sorry, I’m having trouble typing messages at the moment. The wood I use is pear wood for bacon and I get it from an orchard that is close by. Where we are wood is really easy to find. Most of it gets turned into coal for grilling but there is so many to choose from. The first place I checked was the roast duck restaurant and that is great to start with but when you find other sources, it’s always nice to tinker. I’m going to add on this some pictures of wtf happened while drilling that 304. I’m sure I just heated the metal up till in deformed enough to make a hole. Have a look at this. I can’t explain it.

of eveything I see I'd chuck the baskets for the fire box. You'll find fire management to be a B$%ch
I had an similar OK Joe and found a mod that suggests getting a fire safe grate to lay across the bottom of he fire box, then a bigger one to set in the firebox at an angle. this will allow charcoal starters from a chimney to be put in, then easier to add splits from the end door of the firebox.
You may already now this but fire management can be a PITA with an offset. I found a good bed of charcoal then adding wood to the top.
I'm too old and it's too hot to fire manage an offset in S Florida. Sold mine and got a gravity feed then a WSM.
