Any use for grease?

I just cleaned out the grease bucket than hangs underneath the smoker and grills. In doing so I can't help but wonder if there is a use for the stuff. My smoker is an offset so I thought a scoop of grease here or there tossed into the firebox would both take use of the chemical potential energy in there as well as add some flavor.

Does anyone burn their grease or use it for other purposes? Is this a horrible idea?

Now there are some really good uses for that gease and oils and yucky stuff out of the smoker/grills. I pour mine out on the neighbors fence and let the vermits eat it at night.

There is a guy who comes by and picks ours up , grease from smoker and used peanut oil from deepfryers . I think he collects and takes down towards Autsin for Willie to make bio fuel out of it .

Any reason not to just toss a ladelfull at a time into the burning firebox, why throw BTU's out in the trash?
