I have some work to be done and have received two estimates. They are about $1k off of each other. Will wait for more to come in before making a decision. Can post pics if you'd like to bid. TIA.

It is all about the estimates, you will need to look at the material, if they are brass valves or plastic, commercial grade or home depot pipes. I recently had my yard done and upgraded to commercial grade. You have to pay for it up front but you are not digging holes to repair in the future.

Not a pro but I do all my own. IMO, you pay dearly for quality and speed. The pros (local greenhouses) here are $$$ but will come as promised, typically a week and it will look totally pro. There are guys that do landscaping on the cheap but they are a month or 2 out and results are blah. IE mulch: Pro will run some nice curved edged lines, throw a ton on, bed is nice and rounded. Cheap guy just throws it on and rakes it sorta. My parents are cool with that, I am not. The pros also typically warranty new shrubs and trees.

If we are talking plants, go with a place that installs and warranties them. In my experience if they have a long trip to make they will charge more so look as close to your residence as you can.
