Shorts mentioned getting a scanner for father's day in another thread, but it got me to wondering if any folks on here are amature radio addicts too?

I recently got my Technician license (KD0AID) and a couple of radios and I'm studying for the next level of license. It's a lot of fun to sit by the smoker and talk to people in far away places or here recently listen to the folks up on the International Space Station.

Just curious.
