Hey all, first my apologies to always bother you. But I blame you all, if you didn’t give such great advice I’d not always be asking for your opinions.

Looking for a concealed carry holster for my wife. A little about Nic, she is small statured… she’s 5’ and about 130 lbs… very small framed. She was asking me this morning what one to get and I just couldn’t come up with a concrete answer.

So again, I humbly come to you all and ask your opinions on what to get for her. Maybe some of you or your wives are in the same situation and could help this ol redneck out… yet again.

As always, thanks for any suggestions.

Funny, I just posted a gun pic...For me, fit and comfort is key. I prefer leather, but some people like those kydex rigs. Also, summer and winter clothing dictate what and how I carry. Start with the type of gun, and find something that she likes. I prefer outside the waistband. It's really a preference thing, but the key is being able to quickly and reliably access the gun, and keep it concealed. Winter gives many options that t-shirt and cargo short weather do not. I know that sounds vague and general, but go to your local gun / sporting goods store and see what they have on hand. You can always return things. As I type, my XDS 3.3 40 is in a Bianchi Model 57.

Desantis has some good options for pocket carry. I carry my Ruger Lc9 in a Desantis nemesis pocket holster.

I also have a crossbreed IWB tuckable belt holster for this pistol but have come to prefer pocket carry.

I have full size pistols and holsters for all of them, but I have come to prefer the mouse gun in my pocket, mainly for convenience. I don't even feel it as I go about my business.

The Desantis is also good for purse carry. my wife uses the same holster for the one she keeps in her purse.

First question to answer is how does she want to carry it? Inside waist band, outside waist band, pocket, upper body, ankle or in a CC purse or bag?

I started to ask that as well of what she intends to carry.

When I went through this with my wife, she wanted small cause big pistols scared her. I could not get it into her head that a heavier pistol in the same caliber = less felt recoil.

She does ok with the little Ruger 9mm though. They're a little snappy, but the recoil is manageable.

The old beater looking one is mine and I put a laser sight on hers.

Thank you all: I am still trying to recover from the accident I had in August which resulted in a concussion. Never knew how bad those can be.

Anyway, thanks again for the responses. She would prefer an on body holster… she was talking about one just below chest level on her left side.

She will be carrying a M&P by Smith and Wesson .380 Shield EZ.

With you wife's small stature, a body carry is not going to be easily concealed.
My wife was shopping for purses a few years ago. She found one that she liked, but asked what was the extra pocket. Don't have the photos as I changed phones. It was a pistol holster. The strap had an added Kevlar feature to prevent the slash and dash. Wife passed as she didn't want someone thinking she was carrying a firearm.
Get your wife to look into the bandoleer style purses with a carry holster. Current fashion so they blend in without being obvious.

Just know that this question is like asking what is the best shoe out there….. as each person is different and there are almost as many choices a people that want them……

That said…… an apex type carry holster is a very versatile choice and what she is looking for from your description….

Here are two…..
Alien in Post Falls Idaho makes exceptional holsters.

Another budget but very effective and function is the Crossfire tempest. It works! Scheels carries them.

I’d she were a bit looser jeans and an over sided long shirt both of these will disappear….

I like my Sneaky Pete. I use it for a little Keltec .380. Looks like a phone case or something...I always wonder if anyone wonders whats in it when I set it down on the restaurant seat or table along WITH my cell phone. Gun people likely know of course.

I had to drill a hole in the clip where it attaches to the case because it kept pressing the button to release the mag when I wore it (right side) and put the seat belt on in my truck, but after that modification it doesn't do that.

As much as its my right, and as much as I actually feel great when I see someone carrying more obviously, I know some people are freaked out by it so I'm a bit self-conscious carrying my full sized Kimber 1911 45ACP, or even my S&W 40, plus, they are cumbersome.

Here in Virginia we are open carry (for now, anti-gun forces are always at work here and it just got worse) so its perfectly legal to strap-on just about anything and walk about...guns-wise people, get your head out of the gutter! Unless there are no-gun signs in an establishment window. But I prefer more discrete and I'm not a shooting expert, I would rather the .380 for close situations like in a restaurant or parking lot encounter. I'd rather miss with that then something that could do real damage downrange.

Having a CCP here is just so you CAN conceal it legally of course. But you dont have to.
