I just discovered over the weekend that ash makes a great de-greaser. So I scooped out my ash pan, mixed some water with it to make a paste and went to work!!! Wow, it worked great!! So if anyone needs an "excuse" to smoke, there it is!

MrsB... ash was an important ingredient in the old methods of soap manufacture... I think it was called "Lye soap". Seems ashes and rendered animal fats...and something??

I SO knew you would know something on this. I did read something about it being a soap ingredient. But didn't read far. How is it you know so much about so many things? What is that saying? "Jack of all trades, Master of none"

Although for you it would be "Jack of all trades, Master of all"
