It's been decided I have a crew of about 10 coming tomorrow evening for horseshoes. I have nothing prepared as far as food. Any thoughts on what I can throw on tomorrow morning around 9am or later and have ready by 5pm for a group of 10 and it will cover all bases (no sides)? I'm not looking to get into anything real expensive or time consuming or requiring sides. Right now my thoughts are to grab some burger, cheese, buns and sauce and do some meatballs. Pretty easy and covers it all. Meatball subs. Any other ideas on what can easily be done in a pinch without a lot of effort?

Here's a few quickies:

Sliders

Pork Shots

Fatty

Moinks

I think I’m going to do a Philly Cheesesteak Fatty but keep the ideas coming. I’m going to save this thread.

chicken wings !! deep fry them , throw them in a bowl coat with your favorite sauce toss them and stick them in a warm oven till ready to serve

Sounds great, however you may want make two or three with ten dudes coming over to toss shoes.

Yeah I’m planning to double the recipe I found. 5 lbs of meat with other stuff mixed in should do it.

A friend works at a place that does railroad ties and he got some for me last year so I made some nice pita out of them.

Make horseshoes! It’s a central Illinois thing, but just a burger on toasted Texas toast, covered with fries drenched in a cheese sauce. Many places her substitute the burger for ham, fried chicken breast, chicken tenders, or even shrimp. Usually makes the heart beat a little slower but definitely good eats!

Had to look that up..never heard of it
Quoits?? More accuracy than Shoes.
Pins are 21' apart, with steel rings, flat on the bottom. Sets vary from 2 1/2 to 4 pounds each quoit, with a hole in the middle about 2" in Diameter. To get a ringer the quoit must go right over the pin, and can't be slid onto the stake, like a shoe can on the open side. My brother Jim (RIP) & I were unbeatable at big picnics, where we once went "21 - 0", after playing all day long, and I had to lay my cigarette on the top of the pin, at the end, so Jim could see where the pin was in the dark. Awesome Game!!

Crazy how time flies. Wanted to update this over a week ago and forgot. I'm very bad with taking pictures, oooops and sorry. So I ended up doing 2 philly cheesesteak fatty. They were pretty hard to roll up with all the filling so I think next time I'm going to knock the ground meat down about 25%. Weaved bacon, ground beef, ground sausage, cream cheese, peppers, onions, provolone cheese, seasoning. Also called for Jalapenos but I couldn't find them anywhere quickly. Wow was this delicious. We ate one and I froze the other one. The fatty is a great idea and I want to find some different ones to make. I'm going to do a lot more smokes over this summer and freeze some to get out over the winter.
