Posted earlier this week about tri tip from aldi's. Well put it to the test today.

Smoked to 120, screaming hot grill 90seconds per side. Wrapped in foil and towel for 15 mins finishing up tators.

Taste is great. Like someone on my other thread the salt is high from the preseason.
 
I picked one of those up from Aldi's yesterday. I am tempted to make pastrami out of it.
 
Dang good. Pretty much SP seasoning as pointed out on the other thread heavy on the salt.
 
Looks really good from here. Nicely done.

Took it to 190 over hickory. Wrapped in butcher paper at 160. Wrapped in foil at 190 and rested 30 mins. Came out fantastic! Just a little salty, not too much. Next time I will wrap with foil at 160. Lots more au jus that way.
