I was wondering if I could use Alabama black eyed butter beans in place of red kidney beans in chili?

What you boys think?

Only thing I see is that mature butter beans will have a starchy/caulky mouth feel where as red beans will cook out smooth. But they will work in a chili I would think...especially if you use small young beans.

At 500 pounds it's gonna take one BIG pot Banjo man

Looking forward to seeing your chili Justin. I love me some good chili. Be sure to post it.

I use pinto beans in most of my bean dishes. Chili, baked beans, cowboy beans etc.

I picked the mature beans.
