A Round For The Folks!

Hey all, spent last Sunday afternoon with my folks watching the NFL playoffs. Kind of a tradition to get together, have some quality time and just chill out. Maybe a couple snacks and a few brews as well. Last Sunday was no different other than talk was brought up about some jerky. Well, unbeknownst to them… a redneck can take a hint….

So pulled out of the freezer and into the fridge a bit of wild game meat. These animals eat just off the hay and grain fields we are fortunate to hunt on mainly due to my cousins.

First off, the folks really like the whole muscle jerky… but they are getting older… so I figured I’d do some bites vs the original strip style. Hopefully easier for them to chew.

Here’s some elk bites…

Seasoned up…

Some Pronghorn bites… (Antelope or as some say Turbo Goat) Just a quick and fun fact on Pronghorn… they are the second fastest land mammal… only the Cheetah is faster. Hence why they are called Turbo Goats… they are fast!

And seasoned up…

Some ground antelope…

All mixed up.

Also done some mule deer grind, but my kids distracted me and forgot a pic. Might just be an age thing… but I am gonna blame them…

The grind on both will be jerky gunned into strips… so easy eating for the folks.

Here’s what went in the fridge early afternoon yesterday. Will put in dehydrator early AM.
