I'm new to this as the headline says but at 31 and getting my first smoker for my birthday this past weekend, I can officially say I'M HOOKED. Heres a pic of my first 'St. Louis Style' Ribs. Looking forward to getting some great ideas....

Man...Those look great!  I guess I don't have to preach to you about Q-View...you seem to understand!

Thank you very much! I've been trying to update my profile but it hasn't been working. So let me start by saying I'm from Midland, Tx. The smoker I received is a "Brinkmann Smoke n' Grill". I've read tons of reviews on the problems yet, I've also read that its a great beginner smoker and can perform really well with proper modifications.

I haven't had a chance to drill holes in the fire pan like the majority of people have done to it. I bought a cheap oven thermometer to place inside til I can get a new one put on, as I was unhappy with the (Warm, Ideal, HOT) default thermometer. lol

I really had very low expectations for my first time ever smoking anything. Yet,  I was really surprised and encouraged at how they turned out. Hopefully I can learn alot from all the veteran smokers. Thanks in advance for all your hospitality.

Success!  Those ribs looks real tasty, and it only gets better from here!
